Staff Development through Staff ExchangesThe University supports staff exchanges as a form of staff development which provides an opportunity for individuals to broaden their skills and knowledge through 'on-the-job' learning in other University departments or in other organisations. Staff exchanges are intended to enhance the performance of general and academic staff in their current position and to assist staff in their career development. Exchanges are also expected to be of benefit to the University and to the organisation concerned. Staff are encouraged to seek appropriate development opportunities both within the University and externally. Managers and supervisors are expected to ensure access to relevant activities including exchanges, secondments and acting positions. The University's policy relating to staff exchanges and placements with other organisations can be found on the Human Resources Policies, Procedures and Guidelines Website at http://www.hr.uwa.edu.au/page/7395. The University's International Centre provides information about staff exchange agreements with overseas institutions and academic staff exchange programmes. See http://staff.international.uwa.edu.au/home.
