Intended Audience:This workshop is relevant to staff with financial responsibilities - new and existing School Managers, Finance Officers and Administrative Officers with asset and motor vehicle management responsibilities. Workshop Description:How to better manage my assets, motor vehicles and attractive items <$5k? is designed to provide participants the knowledge of the University’s policies, procedures and tips on how to better manage assets, motor vehicles and attractive items below $5K in your business unit. Intended Outcomes:After completing this workshop, participants should be able to understand: - What are recognised as asset items by the University?
- Who maintains the Asset Register?
- What are the available PeopleSoft reports you can run and review?
- Why does the Asset Register not reflect the truth?
- How to ensure accuracy in the future?
- The University's policies and procedures of::
- Purchasing an asset
- Assets acquired by donation or gift
- Leased Assets
- Disposing an asset
- Transferring asset to another faculty/business unit
- Loans on equipments or asset items
- Stock take
- How to better manage attractive items or equipment, not classified as asset items?

Kathy Kok, Project Accountant, Financial Services, UWA Cost:UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees.
We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee. Number of Places:12
