Financial Month End Reviews and Reconciliations

Intended Audience:

This workshop is highly relevant to new and existing School Managers and Finance Officers.

Workshop Description:

This workshop is designed to reinforce the University’s internal and external reporting obligations. Participants will be equipped with a checklist and knowledge on how to align month end practise to facilitate the preparation of the reports presented to the University’s Executives and Committees.

Intended Outcomes:

After completing this workshop, participants should be able to have a better understanding on:

• Why is month end important?
• The big picture and the results of your effort.
• How to tailor your month end processes to align with the University’s quarterly reporting requirements?
• What to review and reconcile at a regular basis?
• What are recommended reports to review?
• How to run these reports? Why are they useful?
• How to review my financial reports efficiently?

Key Activities:

Generous amount of handouts and sample reports. Hands-on activities on efficient ways of reviewing financial reports

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
