Improving Your Outlook

Intended Audience:

Any staff member who uses (or would like to use) Microsoft Outlook 2003 to better manage their inbox, calendar and to-do list.

Workshop Description:

Microsoft Outlook can be used to combine all your information from your email, calendar and to-do list in a single view that will save you time and reduce frustration. Unfortunately the default setup for Outlook may make that goal harder to reach than it needs to be.. This workshop will demonstrate a simple approach to changing the default views in Outlook to make them more useful as well as provide a method for managing information as it comes in so that you remain in control..

Intended Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop participants will have a better understanding of:
  • How to change their default view for email, calendar and task list within Outlook
  • How to move information between email, calendar and task lists with out retyping
  • How to quantify the time it takes to do a task
  • How to record time dependent activities in the calendar
  • How to store and retrieve information easily from Outlook through simplified filing and advanced search
  • How to share information with other users without sharing your password

Key Activities:

  • Hands-on exercises that allow participants to control how information is viewed in Outlook 2003
