PeopleSoft: Journals and eT Forms

Intended Audience:

This workshop is highly relevant to staff with financial responsibilities - new and existing School Managers, Finance Officers and Administrative Officers with 25% financial responsibilities.

Workshop Description:

PeopleSoft: Journals and eTForms is designed to provide participants the knowledge and tool to transfer funds or cost from a project grant to another and from a Business unit to another. This workshop is delivered in simple and non-Accountant language which helps you overcome the fear of dealing with debit/credit and signage.

Intended Outcomes:

After completing this workshop, participants should be able to understand:
  • How to transfer funds/cost from a PG to another?
  • How to transfer funds/cost from/to other Business Unit?
  • When to create and post a journal?
  • How do I create a journal correctly?
  • How to search and retrieve an existing journal?
  • How to copy and reverse a journal?
  • How to create and post multiple lines journal.
  • The simple way to remember signage (+ or -, debit or credit)
  • The rules and auditors’ concerns with regard to journals.

Key Activities:

Hands-on activities on PeopleSoft with real-scenario examples.

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
