Working with Financial Forms

Intended Audience:

This workshop is highly relevant to staff with financial responsibilities - new and existing School Managers, Finance Officers and Administrative Officers with 25% financial responsibilities.

Workshop Description:

Forms! Forms! How to get my forms processed quickly is designed to provide participants with a sound knowledge of all the financial forms and tips to avoid delays and sent-backs. It also provides participants an overview of the entire process workflow and the impact on incorrect forms.

Intended Outcomes:

After completing this workshop, participants should be able to understand:
  • The financial forms used in the University
  • Why the delays?
  • What are the strategies to speed up the process?
  • What happens to your form when it arrives at Financial Services?
  • The negative impact of incomplete forms.
  • Why Financial Services can seem unfriendly at times - sending back your forms instead of making a phone call?
  • What forms are available and how to complete them correctly?
  • What attachments are expected to be submitted with the forms?

Key Activities:

Fun and hands-on activities on identifying errors on real forms.

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
