Advisor: New Users

Intended Audience:

This workshop is compulsory for all new Advisor users and staff with new budgeting responsibilities.

Workshop Description:

Advisor is a budgeting software package developed by the University to assist the faculties and business units in preparing annual budgets and reforecast. This software is linked to PeopleSoft. Advisor: New User is designed specifically for new Advisor users and staff with budgeting responsibilities.

Intended Outcomes:

After completing this workshop, participants should be able to:
  • Understand the basics of the Advisor budgeting tool.
  • Develop the skills to develop and prepare budget and reforecast as part of the University’s Internal and External Reporting Obligations.

Key Activities:

Hands-on activities on PeopleSoft with real-scenario examples, such as budgeting for a new employee, employee termination, employees changing FTEs, inserting new income or expenditure lines and running reports.

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
