Enabling Sustainable Change

Intended Audience:

All supervisors and managers who support staff through change processes.

Workshop Description:

Most leaders will be responsible for guiding change processes at various stages in their career. This workshop will explore some of the latest thoughts on change management and how leaders can achieve the best outcomes. Two key areas will be explored: the role of the leader in providing clear but positive direction, and strategies that can encourage staff engagement with the change process.

Intended Outcomes:

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the different contexts for change management and the pros and cons of various change models.
  • Identify effective leadership strategies in promoting a change agenda.
  • Develop staff engagement with change strategies using a range of suitable methods.

Key Activities:

The session will include short presentations, small group work and case studies.

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
