Committee Executive Officer Interactive Forum

Intended Audience:

Staff with some or extensive experience as Committee Executive Officers. With assistance from an expert panel, the forum will provide an opportunity to explore aspects of the role with other practitioners and to share best practice. Preference will be given to staff who attended the workshop “The Role of the Committee Executive Officer – Introductory” or who have considerable experience in the role.

Workshop Description:

  • Exploring issues related to working with committees
  • Identifying challenges and ways to resolve these
  • Opportunity to ask questions of peers and expert panel
  • Sharing of strategies for success and best practice

Intended Outcomes:

The workshop is designed to assist you to achieve a professional level of performance as a Committee Executive Officer and to gain confidence in that role. You will:
  • Gain a better understanding of the purpose and functions of committees
  • Establish guidelines for defining your role and responsibilities as an Executive Officer in relation to the committee(s) you service
  • Build and enhance networks with other Executive Officers and members of the University Secretariat

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
