Intended Audience:

Any member of general staff, including those in administrative, technical, research and professional positions. Recommended also for managers and supervisors who would like an overview of the opportunities that are available to the general staff they supervise.

Workshop Description:

This session will provide you with an overview of current career developmental trends, a review of career opportunities available for general staff at UWA, and details of where to go for further information and support.

Intended Outcomes:

At the end of this information session participants will have a greater awareness of:
  • Career developmental trends
  • Individual and organisational responsibilities in relation to career development
  • Opportunities available for general staff at the University, including workshops and programmes, time off for study, funding to attend courses and conferences, allowances, flexible work practices, job reclassification, salary progression, secondments, and the UWA Mobility scheme.
  • Where to go for further information

Cost:

UWA staff members and UWA affiliates will receive priority in gaining access to this session. Participant enrolment in this workshop will be confirmed following the closing date for applications. Please note a cancellation fee may apply for non-attendees. We also welcome enrolment by non-UWA participants, subject to availability. The commercial fee for non-UWA attendees is calculated at $100 per hour of attendance. Staff working in other universities will receive a 20% discount on the commercial fee.
