OSDS aims to make a substantial contribution to the University's first priority objective,'to recruit, develop and retain the highest quality staff' by: - stimulating, co-ordinating and supporting professional and career development activities and projects at institutional, departmental and individual levels
- increasing awareness of the need for a professional and well-planned approach to development and training for all staff
- facilitating a self-directed approach to staff development for individuals and groups
- working within departments to identify and meet staff development needs at the local level
- mounting workshops and seminars to raise staff awareness of a variety of issues and to enable staff to develop job-related skills and knowledge
- upholding University commitments to equal opportunity and occupational health and safety principles and policies
| OSDS is co-located with the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) and the Evaluation of Teaching Unit (ETU) within Love House at 28 Broadway (corner of Cooper St), Nedlands
